Floating bumpers
Home / Campisa Loading Bays / Bumpers / Floating bumpers
Floating bumpers are able to follow the vertical movements of the vehicles under load.
They are made by very high resistance rubber.
The performance of this bumper is very high. The elastic element used is the same used to support the beams of road bridges; therefore, duration and effectiveness are guaranteed.
The effectiveness of a bumper is its ability to absorb the impact energy that a vehicle discharges against the curb.
In the long run this energy, if not adequately absorbed, is capable of demolishing even the most resistant reinforced concrete structures.
Another essential feature: being the bumper, 550 mm length, only its upper part is normally worn, hence, turning the bumper upside down, the non-worn side allows continuing to use the bumper for longer periods.
The replacement of the elastic element can be carried out without the intervention of any experienced technician.
The bumper absorbs the impact of the retracting vehicle in order to protect the platform and the ramp.
The Float bumper is made of very high elasticity rubber.
Whatever the slope of the apron, towards the outside or towards the building, the bumper is not damaged by the vertical movement of the vehicle during loading.
Additionally, the bumper can be protected with optional steel front plates.
DIMENSIONS
- Width 150 mm
- Height 550 mm
- Thickness 120 mm (RUBBER)
- Positive excursion: 150 mm
- Negative excursion: 90 mm
- Possibility to position the bumper 150 mm above the quay
ELASTIC ELEMENT
NR + SBR Elastomer with good characteristics of resistance to abrasion, aging and atmospheric agents, plus vulcanized on galvanized metal plate.
SUPPORT
Made by profiled steel elements, painted in RAL 2000 orange color.
OPERATING SYSTEM
The sliding of the steel profiles is guided while two springs control the neutral position keeping the rest position at dock level.
INSTALLATION
The floating bumpers are fixed by bolts screwed into the sleeves predisposed in the Campisa prefabricated frames.
In existing structures, the bumpers can be anchored to sleeves in the structures or in the wall.
- Front rubber protection plate, made by 10mm thick steel. The front face subject to impacts is treated with hot-dip galvanization and vulcanization.
- Support raising the bumper 150mm above the quay level (other sizes available on request).
